Nilpferd
Nilpferdfiguren dienten im Mittleren Reich als Grabbeigabe, da das Nilpferd als Symbol für die Regeneration im Jenseits galt. Die Zeichnungen auf der Figur bilden den Lebensraum des Tieres ab, aufgeblühte Lotosblumen und Lotosknospen, ein auffliegender Vogel mit ausgebreiteten Flügeln. Das Nilpferd befindet sich gleichsam mitten im sumpfigen Papyrusdickicht.
