vessel, pottery, jar
Hyksos jar - jar with blue faience or glass rods lengthways down vessel. Traces of fabric are evident in the neck. 143mm high. See also EC502 and W1293. Such jars seem to date from the Second Intermediate Period, a time when the Hyksos ruled Egypt. The Hyksos seem to have come from Palestine and ruled Egypt from around 1650 BC to 1550 BC.
