Leg of piece of furniture with lion's head. Probably belongs with 1309 and 1311. Late Dynastic. Purchased by Wellcome from the Rustafjaell collection in 1906. Lions were associated with rebirth and are depicted on funerary beds from the new kingdom onwards. it is possible that this item is part of a lion funaerary bed.
