Pale green wooden goose of Middle Kingdom date. Previous catalogue says this was found at Arab-el-birk. Originally part of the MacGregor collection purchased by Wellcome in 1922. For the wild goose featuring as bird of Amun, as symbol of birth/rebirth, but also as Sethian animal, see RAeRG pp.199- 200, 273-275 and GM 126, pp. 47-57. 19.8cm long.
