thumb ring
This could be a macehead but is more likely to a thumb ring used for pulling the string of a bow. Made from hard, red stone. The Museum of Fine Art in Boston has several of these from Nubia which are dated 90BC-AD40. The item has a MacGregor label with lot 933 marked on it. The internal diameter is 2cm wide.
