Esther scroll
Esther Scroll. Parchment scroll with the Book of Esther in Hebrew. The date is uncertain but is estimated to be around 1600 AD. The scroll tells of how Queen Esther, Jewish wife of king Xerxes saves her people from extinction. In memory of the deliverance, the scroll is read out during the Purim Festival (Feb/March). 50mm wide.
