The Virgin and Child with a Bunch of Grapes
Lucas Cranach, who was of the same generation as Dürer, was the great painter of the Reformation. A personal friend of Melanchthon and Luther, he was involved with Reformational movements although he also continued to paint religious compositions for Catholic clients such as Cardinal Albrecht of Brandenburg and members of the house of Saxony.
