Born in Hamburg, Christian E. B.Morgenstern was an important landscape painter who spent most of life and career in Munich. Morgenstern was from a family of artists and his father, Johann Heinrich, was a miniature painter and portraitist, although Morgenstern did not pursue these fields of art.
