Landscape in Brazil
This is Post’s largest painting. It features a wide river landscape with a distant sugar plantation, glimpsed as if seen through a ‘window’. A spot-backed puffbird is illusionistically painted as if perched on the frame, and the artist also depicted a grasshopper and an iguana hidden among the exotic Brazilian plants and fruits.
