The Warwick Vase
The item is one of the illustrations from Piranesi's book of engravings (see Bibliography).The engraving shows a side view of a large two-handled vase, called the Warwick Vase. The handles are formed of twisted vines, which thence encircle the rim, bearing grapes. On the sides, the heads of Sileni are placed, as if severed, on a leopard or tiger skin.
