Roman bronze vessel from Prickwillow, Isle of Ely
This is probably a preparatory drawing for Basire's engraving published in Archaeologia (see Bibliography).The drawing shows an elaborate bronze patera found at Prickwillow, and a detail of the handle, which is embellished with dolphins, enamelled decoration of vineleaves, and the inscription BODVOGENUS.F.
