This is a ''BRADES'' crown hay knife. This hay knife was made from steel and with the tang bolted into a heavy turned wooden cross handle. It also has an inscription; 'BRADES MILLS// MADE IN ENGLAND// Patter 56 24''. It has manufactured by Brades & Nash Tyzack Ltd. and used by depositor's father-in-law for cutting up hay for use as livestock feed.
