Two chairs
The drawing, which is numbered ‘25’, was probably commissioned by a dealer or maître-tapissier (upholsterer) as part of a kind of catalogue from which prospective customers could make their selection. The drawing room from the Kops house in Haarlem (displayed in the gallery next door) has somewhat similar chairs, upholstered in closely related fashion.
