Invasive Species: Common Myna
The Common Myna originally comes from Central to Southeast Asia and was brought to Europe partly for zoological purposes and partly by accident. There are at least 8 EU member states reporting the existence of the species in their country. It is accustomed to a fairly warm climate and its growth could be limited by the harsh winters in Europe. It is possible that due to climate change and rising temperatures, the growth of the population in Europe willl be enhanced.
