Copper bracelet with grisgris worn as protection against illness and misfortune

The bracelet was probably worn by men. The hollow funnel-shaped button, called Bulon'Tan, is meant to be symbolic and represents 'the light', 'the Enlightenment'. Bulon'Tan is the native name for the funnel-shaped earthenware lamps in which shea butter is burned for illumination (3912-468).
