Story of the 78e RI
The 78th infantry regiment, whose staff is pictured here on August 2, 1914 at Puy-Imbert, in Limoges, formed with the 63rd RI the 45th brigade, belonging to the 23rd infantry division. The 78th infantry regiment, barracked in 1914 in Limoges and Guéret, fought in particular in the Ardennes, in the Marne, in Artois and in Verdun.
