My grandfather Anton Geisreiter (1887-1929) was a farmer in Grabenstätt am Chiemsee in Bavaria. In 1913 he married and bought a small farm together with his wife for 14,000 gold marks. They had five children in total. He was reluctant to go to war because of the newly bought farm and the children.
