Kriegsskizzenbuch des Malers Willy Irmscher
Willy Irmscher - war sketch book
My husband's grandfather was the painter Willy Irmscher. He was drafted into military service in July 1914 and between 1914 and 1918 he drew numerous everyday situations of soldier's life. We found parts of his war sketchbook (a folder with loose drawings) and some personal documents such as CVs and certificates in his estate. Willy Irmscher died in 1955.
