Verhaal van Henri Vertongen
Story of Henri Vertongen
Henri had taken over the military service from his eldest brother Ferdinand, who continued his professional training in Paris. Henri thus took part in the fighting during the war. He was with the Regiment Lancers. Henri also played in a soldier's orchestra and was a waiter in the officers' mess. In addition, he was still an acolyte to the chaplain of his army unit.
