Stephen Arnold and the mystery of the sword
Never spoke much about his war-time experiences
My wife's grandfather returned from the First World War injured and with a sword. His name was Stephen Arnold and he was born in 1890 in Kilmacanogue, County Wicklow, Ireland. Details of his life are sketchy. In the 1911 census his home is given as Curragh Camp, and he also was possibly a gardener in the Vice Regal Lodge in the Phoenix Park before the War.
