A British soldier and his family photographed in Hitching
A photograph of a British soldier's family
At the centre of this family portrait is a solemn-looking girl standing alongside her mother, pictured in profile, and soldier–father, the details of whose cap badge are indistinct. Stamped across the bottom of the photograph is the name of the studio that produced it as a real photographic postcard: ‘A. E. Lupton / 14 Nightingale Road / Hitchin [in Hertfordshire]’.
