War memories of Johann Esser from Western Front
Johann Esser (1893-1962) was active during the war in the 28th Infantry Regiment, which took part in various battles in Flanders and northern France on the western front. He was discharged from the army in November 1918 and worked as a gardener in Lüftelberg after the war. According to family tradition, he never talked about the war.
