Born on March 20, 1883, Jean-Marie DARGAIGNON was 31 when the war broke out. Farmer in Aurensan (Hautes-Pyrénées), father of 2 children, Joseph and Augustine, he was married to Joséphine. He was mobilized in Tarbes as a soldier in the 144th infantry regiment then went to the front. In 1917, he was assigned to the machine gunners.
