My grandfather, Henri Louis Augustin Arnaud, born in May 1900, volunteered in August 1917. Living in the Drôme, he had to be sent to Toulon and served as a radio operator on board the cruiser Le Friant then submarines the Topaz and Antigone during the campaign in the Orient.
