FRBNFM-271 Témoignage de Hélène Fleischmann
Document from Hélène Fleischmann
My husband's grandmother Hélène Fleischmann living in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines (Vosges) kept a diary from 1914 to 1917 (February). It recounts the daily life of a small town caught between the two fronts. The city was German at the start of the war. The testimony written in French is factual and passes from the point of view of Alsace once French and once German.
