Richard Hartung stayed in 1915 as a grenadier in the reserve hospital VII in Stuttgart and wrote to the Pinsler family in Berlin. He wrote of his sons surviving the measles and inquired about the Pinslers' child ("your little one"). He also hoped that "the wretched war would soon be over" since he "had to get out again before Christmas". He also asked about Fritz whether he also had to move out. "…
