Opening the Austro-Hungarian Border 25 Years Ago

SERIES TITLE: Unser Bildschirm - Our Screen

In 1989 the Hungarian Government decided to make possible for GDR citizens to travel to Austria and this played an important role in the reunification of Germany. On the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Austro-Hungarian border the diplomatic service of Germany expressed its gratitude with placing thank you posters in Budapest and six other towns.
