FLEURS DU FRONT
Flowers from the front
My mother, Marguerite Roisin (1901-1979) was a "war godmother" from 1914. She received testimonies from "her soldiers", including flowers picked from the front for her. She dried them and pasted them in her diary with a comment specifying their origin. Under the name of the two soldiers who sent her these flowers, she added later in pencil: "killed".
