Transverse flute
This side-blown flute was owned by the donor's grandfather Robert Syer, who died circa 1855, and was educated at Felsted School, in Essex. It is made of boxwood, in four sections (head, top and middle joints, and foot joint), with ivory ferrules and cap, and one single brass key.
